Katie Taylor
MA, AMFT
Supervised by Toni Rivera-Watson
My work is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and authenticity, and emphasizes a person-centered approach. I believe therapy works best when there is a genuine human connection, so I show up with warmth, openness, compassion, and the readiness to honor and hold whatever you bring into the therapy room. I lean into creating a safe, non-judgmental, and validating space where you feel seen and supported. My hope is that the work we do together feels collaborative, empowering, and uniquely yours.
I work with children, teens, and adults, though I have a particular passion for supporting teens and adolescents. Having firsthand experience with how challenging those years can be, I bring a deep understanding of the unique struggles young people face. My clinical work often centers on anxiety, self-esteem, depression, family systems, and life transitions, helping clients find clarity, confidence, and healthier ways of navigating their world.
My therapeutic approach is shaped by both evidence-based modalities and creative flexibility. I am EMDR trained and draw from CBT, ACT, and solution-focused techniques, integrating art therapy when appropriate- especially with younger clients. For those who desire it, I also offer the option of incorporating Christian perspectives into the therapeutic process, honoring each client’s individual beliefs, values, and comfort level. My background includes a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Western Oregon University, a certificate in Early Childhood Mental Health from San Diego State University, and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. I also have experience in both residential inpatient care and community mental health, supporting clients across a wide range of ages and needs.
Outside of the therapy room, I’m a coffee enthusiast who loves exploring local coffee shops, walking at the beach, and spending time with my dog. I’m an Aries (for the zodiac lovers!), a gal with a serious sweet tooth, and someone who finds joy in traveling and camping with my favorite people. At my core, I’m an empath and a deep feeler, and I show up authentically both inside and outside of the therapy room.
LMFT / Founder
I utilize a holistic approach to treatment (bringing together the mind, body, and spirit) when working with my clients. Integrating western and eastern philosophies to treatment (if and when appropriate), I will prioritize educating you about your diagnosis and collaborate with you to create a treatment plan tailored to meet your needs and goals.

LMFT
I’m here to support your efforts to enhance the quality of your life by understanding what led you to experience painful states of mind and using solutions that reduce suffering instead of alleviating it. This therapeutic work contributes to personal development and transformation.
AMFT
I feel my purpose is to help people cope with the trauma of being human in these uncertain times. I am innately in tune with the language of emotion. I have an inherent understanding of people’s communication patterns and a gentle, approachable, non-threatening presence that provides people with a safe haven to express themselves.
APCC
I specialize in working with children, adolescents, parents, and families, with a focus on supporting development and healing through relational, evidence-based care.

I bring a calm and curious presence to our sessions, aiming to create a collaborative therapeutic environment. I approach challenges holistically, acknowledging the deep connections between mind, body, and spirit, as well as the impact of relationships and environments on well-being.
AMFT
Using a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic modalities, my goal is to help you develop resilience, navigate life’s challenges, and build lasting change on your terms. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma (PTSD), addiction, and high performance anxiety (academics, work, and sports).

I use a warm, person-centered approach to your healing that prioritizes your agency and dignity above all else. I will work with you to identify limiting patterns and beliefs, and will facilitate catharsis through storytelling and relationship. I will utilize modalities such as Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and my background as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) to emphasize mindfulness.
LMFT
For individual adult clients, I take a solution-focused and narrative therapy approach, incorporating elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I aim to empower you by helping you gain control over your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors so you can live a life that aligns with the person you want to be.
