Sachiko Yamauchi Zhang
LMFT
Growing up in Japan, mindfulness was part of my world long before I recognized it. It wasn’t until I trained as a marriage and family therapist that I fully understood its power. Mindfulness brings peace into our lives when we make space for it each day.
I work with children, adults, couples, and families, offering a culturally sensitive and personalized approach. I believe the way we talk to ourselves shapes how we see the world and who we become. I'm here to help you care for yourself with kindness and purpose. In our work together, we focus on bringing more peace into your daily life by finding clarity and gently shifting unhelpful patterns. From there, you’ll begin to envision your core values and move toward living as the person you want to be.
As a certified child-centered play therapist, I use a client-centered, attachment-based approach. Play is a child's natural way of expressing feelings, building connections, and learning essential skills in a safe environment. I also support caregivers in exploring how their own experiences influence their parenting, empowering families every step of the way.
For couples, I employ the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, offering practical, research-based tools to strengthen connection, rebuild trust, and navigate conflict with care.
For individuals, I take a collaborative and mindful approach, blending solution-focused, narrative, and cognitive-behavioral therapies. These approaches help you recognize your strengths, understand how your thoughts and personal stories shape your experience, and gently shift patterns that may be holding you back—so you can create meaningful, lasting change.
I am fluent in English and Japanese. (日本語でもご相談いただけます。秘密厳守。)
LMFT / Founder
I utilize a holistic approach to treatment (bringing together the mind, body, and spirit) when working with my clients. Integrating western and eastern philosophies to treatment (if and when appropriate), I will prioritize educating you about your diagnosis and collaborate with you to create a treatment plan tailored to meet your needs and goals.
